CDMX, (Notifax).- México se consolidó como el quinto productor mundial de naranja, con un volumen promedio de 4.2 millones de toneladas, las cuales se comercializaron tanto en el mercado interno como en destinos internacionales, informó la Secretaría de Agricultura, Ganadería Desarrollo Rural, Pesca y Alimentación (Sagarpa)
Las principales entidades productoras de este cítrico son Veracruz, quien aporta el 44.5 por ciento del volumen nacional; Tamaulipas, 14.6 por ciento, y San Luis Potosí, 8.8 por ciento, estados que conjuntan el 67.9 por ciento del total cosechado en el país.
El valor de la producción de naranja en México se estima en más de seis mil millones de pesos, con un consumo anual per cápita de 37.1 kilogramos y aporta el 22.5 por ciento del volumen de frutas que son producidas en el país.
